Blackberry Customer vs Apple Fan vs Android Fanatic

Admit it, you belong to one of these categories! The world is driven by the smartphone craze [that is for those who haven't caught the tablet bug yet :-)]. I came across a tweet recently during the "blackberry blackout" about blackberry customers and apple fans. Sounded quite interesting, so I set out to discover my personal analysis.

Blackberry Customer
The last 2-3 days were probably "unbearable" for obsessive pinging machines (I mean people who use blackberry messenger). And yes, some had a needed break from funny and ridiculous broadcasts (I still wonder why some think blackberry won't contact a customer directly but will decide to use a broadcast on blackberry messenger to send messages...ridiculous isn't it?).

But let's admit it - RIM's blackberry did make life easier! Friends, clients, business associates, employees are only a ping away. Email delivered to you real-time on the go anywhere in the world - now that is cool! Now we know why so many freaked out and the endless insults on twitter and Facebook directed at Blackberry.

Question is are you bold enough to discard your blackberry? Are you sure your fingers won't miss your bedside toy, your toilet companion and your important "don't leave home without it"accessory! (Your poor thumbs are probably sore from excessive typing and have permanently taking a curved shape!).

I haven't used my blackberry for some weeks now and though I miss not having my email at real-time as quick as I would have loved, I honestly love the peace and quiet! No pings, no broadcasts, no excessive impulse to check my phone for the latest message!

Apple Fans
Needless to say, apple products provoke emotional reactions from most people (there are still some strong apple product critics who have vowed never to be wowed by Steve Jobs' expensive toys). Not saying apple products are the first or the best, but they just seem to get you curious.

How many CEO's would provoke a worldwide reaction like the death of Steve Jobs (RIP). How many products can get people queueing all night just to be the first to get their hands on a "phenomenon?" (I haven't figured our why they do that yet though?).

That being said, I think Apple are too tight-fisted with their controlling measures. And how many Apple fans truly maximise the use of their gadgets?

I guess why we can call them fans because they treat apple products like celebrities. I'm waiting for the" iMan" - the first human cloned by Apple who will go to work for you while you stay at home (There's probably an app for that.)

Android Fanatics
Right, good old Google, always sticking their hands in every pie. They had to come into the smartphone business (let's not talk about Google+... or did I mention they acquire Motorola too?).

What's your first impression of Android?

At least someone dared to stand up to Apple (which was necessary... so we could have the AndroidMan vs the iMan isn't it?). Android-based smartphones have gradually acquired more market share because they give you more variety to choose from - Samsung vs HTC vs Motorola (or Google-rola) vs etc etc.

It's like a rebellion (hence the word fanatics!). They can sound a bit "techie" and nerdy though. Apple mastered the art of speaking in plain, simple language when describing what their products can do. Android-based smartphone goes on about their almighty features and sometimes you could just get lost in all the details.

The rebellion has been good though, ask your network provider for their latest account statements for more information!

What have you done with what you have?:
It doesn't matter what category you belong, the question is what have you done with what you know? Once upon a time Nokia ruled and Microsoft commanded. But blackberry, apple and android has proved there is always room at the top if you dare to take a step.

You don't have it all to do great stuff, start from where you are now.  Read my inspiring story on the life of Steve Jobs.

Let's see what you've done! Show your stuff!
