Everyone knows "The X Factor" TV Show. It's a massive "interactive talent music show" created by Simon Cowell and has grown into a franchise with an international audience. Amazing, isn't it? A huge emotional following by a massive international audience of various age groups, probably one of the biggest shows on TV.
Out of deep curiosity and desire for knowledge, I set about to research if there was any such thing as the GOD factor. While there's still a huge debate about the existence of God and various scientific theories been expounded to explain the theory of the universe, my sole aim was to discover if there existed an explanation on how the presence of God could create a positive effect in a person's life.
Here's what I found:
The God Factor By Paul J. Jankowski : Paul describes his experience of a transformation in his life when he met God. He called it "[living] by the God factor" (page 14). In chapter two, he describes "having a personal relationship with [God]" (page 19). Is that really possible? How do we know God exists in the first place? Some scientific evidence might suffice. But Paul mentions "Faith...the kind of belief that He [God] exists...we can come to Him...that He [God] created the universe with nothing but His words" (page 48).
The God factor (powerpoint presentation) by Tommy's Window Slideshows: A beautiful, free downloadable presentation completed with audio, pictures and some explanations on the God factor. "The God factor is that extra factor in the equation which defies even the laws of nature and makes the impossible possible." That sounds quite amazing to me.
The God factor: inside the spiritual lives of public people by Cathleen Falsani: A fascinating book by a foremost religion reporter, exploring the spirituality of famous celebrities and people of world acclaims. After a sneak preview of the book (thanks to Amazon), it strikes me that beyond the knowledge, education and self-help theory of self-emancipation, man must be in touch with his/her spiritual being to truly experience all round peace and serenity.
It's not my wish to stair up a debate on the existence of God or the influence of spirituality. I simply seek to find answers to the role God plays in our lives and how the world would be a better place if we recognise the place of God in our lives is irreplaceable.
