SMILE - Recession and Depression Therapy

"After every storm the sun will smile; for every problem there is a solution, and the soul's indefeasible duty is to be of good cheer." William R. Alger
This is not exactly a good time in the world. There's the fear of a "second recession" in the USA. The effect of the recent riots in the UK still lingers with businesses counting their losses and families grieving the loss of loved ones. Spending cuts, stock market gloom, retirement benefits seeming insufficient and a sense of disorder around the world - it doesn't look like good times, does it?

So why smile?

First, life is a reason to smile. As long as you are alive you have the will and chance to forge ahead and confront all challenges knowing there's a brighter tomorrow.

A smile has a ripple effect. You smile at someone, they smile back at you. It spreads and the light of hope is restored. It's free and requires little energy yet its effect is priceless.

Smile! Someone's had a worst run than you think you have.
Smile! You've got a roof over your head and a bed to lay on - someone out there sleeps in the park on the hard, cold bench.
Smile! Even if all you've got is baked beans and a slice of bread, someone has no hope of the next meal.
Smile! If you've survived this then you can survive anything.
Smile! God knows what's happening and He cares. He loves you.
Smile! You look so much better when you smile.

Make a conscious decision to day to give a smile, it could save a life. Have a smiley day!
